MXF file views > Summary View

This view gives an overall summary of the file.

Operational Pattern: This is a statement of the complexity of the essence in the file and the way that each track relates to another track.

Packages: This lists the Packages ( also known as MOBs) in the file. each package is a reference to a media object, which may be essence in the file, a reference to a tape or another file, or a composition of essence in other Packages.

The next lines give some high level information about each package within the file, how many tracks they have and information about the media descriptor of the essence referred to by the Package.

This is followed by a list of the any relevant times that can be extracted from the file.

The last item is a statement on the result of the MXFCheck script. This information is also shown in the traffic-light display on the left of the window.
